Bill earned a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy at the University of Missouri in Rolla, Missouri in 1971.  He was a commissioned officer in the US Army Reserves from 1971 to 1979 and at the time of discharge was Captain in the US Army Corp of Engineers. 

Bill joined Steeltech in April 1973, and prior to that he worked for Granco Steel Products of St. Louis, Missouri for four years, serving as Northeast Region Sales Manager before leaving that company.

Bill was promoted from Sales Engineer to General Manager to company President of Steeltech in 1980.  In 1993 he and Bob Denton became co-owners of the company.  In 2023, Bill celebrated his 50th Anniversary at Steeltech, and today he remains an integral part of the team.  He also currently serves on the board of directors for the Connecticut Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association.
